Document Description
As proposed, the project invovles the renovation of the City of Ventura's two municipal golf courses, Olivas Park and Buenaventura. The proposed project supports the City's plan to address structural, infrastructure, and safety issues at both facilities. The deficiencies at both courses are due to two basic causes: non-systematic design modifications, a significant portion of which resulted from damaging floods; and deterioration largely due to aging. The project will result in improvements in the following areas: treatment of on site irrigation and stormwater runoff, golf course drainage, the use of effluent water in irrigation applications, traffic safety, hazards from errant golf shots, disabled access to the facilities, structures within the flood plain and overall service to the public. A key design objective for both golf courses is to incorporate the American Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
