The Chamois well site is located in a zone designated by the County as Public Facility. The parcels adjacent to the well site are also zoned Public Facility and Single-family Residential, which allows for the construction and operation of such public facilities without significant land use compatibility issues.
The proposed project consists of development and production of a vertical well using the existing well casing within the community of Crestline. a submersible pump with a 10 (+/-) horsepower submersible electric motor, power cable, and discharge piping will be installed within the well casing. A small segment (approximately 50 linear feet) of pipe is needed to connect the well to the existing water main and a small protective structure will be built on top of the reinforced concrete slab surrounding the well casing in the center of the graded well pad. The new facilities will augment water supply for existing and future development consistent with the CVWD's Urban Water Management Plan and the San Bernardino County General Plan.
