Document Description
Purpose of project is long term solution for dust control and more effective use of equipment operator time. Watering and grading the main roads is currently done. Dust-Off is applied annually, but is a short-term solution to dust control. Project will occur exclusively on existing main gravel roads and will not affect existing habitat. Applying a 2 inch overlay of Oil Sand or asphalt would reduce to a minimum the dust generated by vehicles on the main gravel roads in the park. These main roads are on average 12 feet wide per lane. The Lower Ranch Area consists of approximately 22,400 lineal feet and the Upper Ranch Area is approximately 17,200 lineal feet of road. Total of 39,800 lineal feet of 12 foot wide road. The contractor would be responsible for traffic control while installing the product. Installation consists of grading road, spreading and compacting product. Potential impact would be additional rain run-off on these roads. The roads are curerently designed to handle the run-off without increasing erosion.
