Document Description
The Resource Management Plan's purpose is to provide a long-term planning, resource stewardship, and operational framework for this park's overall management, along with guidelines for future recreational development and habitat restoration. The RMP is intended to support recreational uses consistent with the primary goal of protecting and promoting the biological and cultural resource values of the park. It sets forth a series of programs for - A) the control of exotic species through "Integrated Pest Management" (IPM), B) vegetation managment through rotational grazing, prescribed burns, and other tools and, C) habitat enhancement. Specific enhancement and restoration projects will address native plant communities in the park, including: 1) the sycamore grove which comprises about one-third of its area; 2) oak savannah and woodland; 3) native grasslands; 4) riparian corridors; and 5) wetland ponds for the benefit of special-status amphibian species.
