Document Description
The Salinas Reclamation Channel Widening Project will widen the base of the channel from 10 feet to 14 feet and the banks will be re-sloped from a 1-foot to 1-foot slope to a 1.5 to 1-foot horizontal to vertical slope. Authroized fill material stockpiled on site would be spread out and compacted to raise property elevations to an elevation greater than 45 feet above mean sea level, which will raise the site above the 100 year flood elevation by two feet. The project would both increase the flood carrying capacity of this reach of the channel and lower flood elevations.
