Document Description
Repair of an existing wet (low) water crossing. The area washed out will be supported with riprap, filled with river rock, overlaid with concrete and joined to the existing concrete portion of the crossing. Road surface elevation of the repaired portion will be the same (+/- 1 foot) as the road surface of the existing concrete crossing. The repaired portion of the crossing will be constructed so that it does not obstruct the low flows of summer months. Repairs will not cause undue ponding upstream of the crossing. Construction will include grading, excavation and importation of fill materials. The wet crossing shall be placed at stream bottom level and the existing worn-out concrete pad will be overlaid with a new layer of concrete. The downstream edge of the crossing shall be armored against erosion by the placement of large on-site rock immediately below the crossing to act as a water energy dissipater. The surface of the approaches to the crossng shall be graveled for a minimum of 300 feet on both sides of the crossing.
