Document Description
This illegal disposal site is located along the south bank of the drainage channel in Cyrus Canyon. Previous studies of the site indicated approximately 1,000 cubic yards of waste. Portions of the waste are at the base of the bank with the remainder spread on and/or buried in the bank. There is some evidence of the waste being burned, with deformed glass and charred wood found intermittently along the bank.
The proposed site remediation includes removal and disposal of illegally dumped materials, recycling of these materials where possible, excavation of burn ash, segregation of contaminated soils, and removal of these materials from the site. Disposal of the ash and soils shall be at appropriate facilities. Soils not contaminated may be used for regrading the area and buttressing the remaining bank.
