Document Description
Funding with provide O&M of the OHV Area developed recreation facilities. The developed recreation facilities include a staging area, 22-unit campground, 5-unit day use area, and an OHV safety training area. The request will also fund implementation of an LE plan, WHPP, soil conservation activities, and the administration of permitted events. The BLM and the FS have jointly managed the OHV Area since 1982. Under the terms of an Interagency Agreement the FS was responsible for the O&M and monitoring of the developed recreation sites within the OHV Area, and BLM was responsible for O&M and monitoring all routes within the OHV Area, and admin. and monitoring of the permitted events that occur annually within the OHV Area. Under previous applications each agency applied for funding separately to cover a portion of the cost to fulfill their responsibilities. As per agreement the division of responsibilities will be changing. During 01-02 the FS will be taking on the responsibility for administering and monitoring the permitted events, transition of BLM's data info FS database and assisting the BLM with monitoring routes on FS lands.
