The City of Alturas is requesting to annex properties adjacent to the city limits but are currently in the political jurisdiction of Modoc County. Because the properties involved are owned by the City, the City currently provides development services, infrastructure improvements and maintenance, and joint law enforcement. The City wishes to improve the infrastructure that services the proposed area to be annexed and to promote the area for development.
