Document Description
The proposed West Elcamino Widening and Bridge Replacement Project would consist of widening West El Camino Avenue for approximately 4,666 feet from two to four lanes and replacing the two lane bridge over the Main Drainage Canal with a four-lane bridge. The proposed roadway widening would consist of a four-lane divided arterial with 12 foot lanes and 6 foot shoulders, classified as Class II bicycle lanes. A-14 foot landscaped median with street lighting would divide the lanes. Additionally, and expanded roadside landscape corridor, a meandering 8 foot sidewalk, street ligts, and a traffic signal are proposed with the widening of West El Camino Avenue. The bridge replacement over the Main Drainage Canal would be a concrete structure, consisting of a reinforced concrete cast in place flat slab stucture with piles, and would be approximately 143 feet long, with 6 foot sidewalks on both sides of the bridge. Orchard Lane would also be reconstructed where it intersects West El Camino Avenue. Orchard Lane would consist of a three-lane collector with two 12 foot travel lanes, a 12 foot left turn lane, and 6 foot shoulders, classified as Class II bicycle lanes.
