Document Description
The school is a needed facility to help accommodate educational needs of the rapidly growing population in the Lancaster area. The school will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., serving a maximum of 150 students. The site is bounded by Divison Street to the West and Avenue H-8 to the north. Land uses surrounding the site consist of the light industrial businesses to the north, a KOA campground with trailers to the east, and old fire station with two aboveground storage tanks to the west, and Antelope Valley fairground overflow parking to the south. The closest residential uses are located along 3rd Street to the east of the project site. The buildings, totaling approximately 10,000 s.f. in size, surrounding a courtyard area with a lunch shelter. A total of 5 relocatable classrooms will be on the campus, with space for 2 future classrooms if needed. Associated school buildings include a library/media center, multi-purpose building, kitchen and storage areas, restrooms, and an administrative building.
