Present Land Use
The majority of land is currently undeveloped and unoccupied. General Plan land uses include Industrial, Business Park, Mixed Use, Commercial, Public Facility, Park/Recreation/Open Space and Destination Recreation.
Document Description
The project concerns an approx. 10.7 acre site which is entitled for mixed-use purposes under the previously-approved March Business Center Specific Plan. In 2007, the Property was transferred from the March Joint Powers Authority ("March JPA") to the City of Riverside ("City"), annexed to the City, and detached from the Riverside County Waste Resources Management District ("RCWRMD"). The City has since quitclaimed the Property back to March JPA. Now, to facilitate the development of the Property as part of the previously approved March Business Center (now known as the Meridian Business Park), the March JPA seeks to submit an application to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Riverside County to detach the Property from the City, annex the Property back to RCWRMD, and pursue sphere of influence amendments to remove the Property from the City's Sphere of Influence (collectively, "Reorganization"). The project entails the March JPA's submission of a petition to LAFCO initiating the Reorganization pursuant to the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000. The petition shall include, but not be limited to: (i) a Reorganization Application; and (ii) a Sphere of Influence Supplemental Application.
