Document Description
The U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC) proposes to manage pests on USARC installations and facilities using an approach that emphasizes the goal of reducing the use of pesticides by 50% to achieve effective pest control with minimal environmental contamination. Each Installation Pest Management Plan (IPMP) will develop the policies and procedures that will become part of the USARC ecosystem approach to managing its lands. Adhearing to the IPMP will provide effective, economical, and environmentally acceptable pest control while maintaining compliance with pertinent laws and regulations. The goals of the pest management plan are to (1) promote the health, safety, and welfare of unit personnel through an effective pest management program, (2) promote installation protection, and (3) ensure a professionally trained pest management workforce while supporting the mission of the USARC to provide combat-ready units for the national defense.
