Document Description
The City of Elk Grove General Plan process began in July 2001. The Elk Grove General Plan will show land uses in two ways. Specific land uses will be shown within the City limits and the proposed sphere of influence, which will be called the General Plan Land Use Policy Area. The General Plan will also show conceptual land uses within the proposed sphere of influence and the remainder of the planning area, excluding the City. This will be called the Conceptual Land Use Policy Area. There will be an overlap within the two different plans, as the land uses in the proposed sphere of influence areas will be shown conceptually as well as on a parcel-specific level. The City of Elk Grove adopted the Sacramento County Zoning Code in July 2000. Following the adoption of the General Plan, the Zoning Code and Zoning Map will be amended to be consistent with and implement the General Plan.
