Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0231-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Granite Construction Company.
Project is limited to repair and stabilization of nine hundred linear feet of the north bank of Cache Creek. The north bank currently consists of variously graded cobble and sand and has significantly eroded as a result of the past winter's high stormwater flows.
The activities include the following:
Grading of the outer eroded bank of the creek to a slope of 3:1 or shallower.
Creation and placement of five b five foot stabilization boxes in the north bank of the creek. These structures will be filled with large rock material. they will be placed on approx. 25 foot centers along the bank and perpendicular to the axis of the creek. All of the boxes will be installed cut into the bank and placed in a manner that they are below the final grade of the bank.
The slopes of the creek bank will be compacted using track mounted and/or tire mounted heavy equipment.
The final compacted slope will be faced with a blanket of cobble ranging in size between 4 and 8 inches in diameter and willow stakes will be placed across the face to encourage development of a stabilizing vegetation wall.
