Document Description
The project consists of a single story, 45,000 square-foot library facility with associated parking on 5.1 acres in the northwest corner of Peter F. Schabarum Regional County Park, near the intersection of Colima Road and Azusa Avenue. The East San Gabriel Valley Library is intended to meet the project year 2020 library service needs of Los Angeles County residents and visitors from the surrounding communities of Hacienda Heights, La Habra Heights, and Rowland Heights. The project includes an amendment [Case No. 02-163(4)] to the Resource Management Plan and General Development Plan for Peter F. Schabarum Regional County Park to authorize the development of the library facility within the park and the relocation of existing park amenities on the proposed library site to other locations in the park. The oak tree permit associated with the project is scheduled for final approval by the Board of Supervisors on February 18, 2003.
