Document Description
The Orange County Basin Groundwater Conjunctive Use Program (Program) would enable the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) to store up to 60,000 acre feet (af) of water via existing connections in the Orange County groundwater basin when available during normal and wet years. When called by the Metropolitan during dry, drought, or emergency periods, up to 20,000 af per year would be extracted from the Orange County groundwater basin, thereby decreasing by an equivalent amount the demand for Metropolitan firm deliveries to the Orange County Water District (OCWD).
