Document Description
Metropolitan proposes to implement a specific plan that provides for a variety fo recreational uses for the East Recreation Area of Diamond Valley Lake Park. The plan includes the development of a 22-acre site for the Western Center for Archaeology and Paleontology and the Southern California Water Education Center, an 85 acre park site for the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District Aquatic Facility, a 266- acre site for a recreational lake and picnic areas, and a 40- acre youth camp, as well as 92 acres of land to be reserved for potential future development. In addition to facilitating planning and entitlement, the plan provides development and design criteria uniquely related to the project and proposed uses, ensures that the various project components are compatible with each other and appropriately integrated, identifies the necessary infrastucture and public services to meet project demands, and provides the city of Hemet with administrative procedures to process and approve future building projects without a lengthy planning process.
