Document Description
The proposed project entails the demolition of a former administration office building located on the CDF-King City Forest Fire Station compound. The original 2457 ft., 1937 office building at this site was either replaced or substantially rebuilt in 1950. It was remodeled and enlarged again circa 1972. The building is no longer used as an office or for any other purpose and is in disrepair. In addition, the building is an attractive nuisance. Finally, the building no longer meets current Building, Fire, Earthquake Code standards along with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. The San Benito-Monterey Unit proposes to demolish the building rather than seek funding for the major renovation required to make the building serviceable and avoid the liabilities of unauthorized use.
