Document Description
This project involves filling an existing unnamed ephemeral creek, tributary to an unnamed tributary to Capell Creek, in order to cultivate the two fields on either side of the ephemeral creek. The existing ephemeral creek impacted is approximately 600 linear feet. The last 50 feet of the ephemeral creek before it enters the larger creek will be left "as is" to preserve the native vegetation that exists along the creek banks. The operator intends to redirect the majority of the flow from the impacted creek to a new channel. The new channel is approximately 545 linear feet in length by 3 foot channel width. The channel will remain natural for the first 465 linear feet, before it transitions into a rock lined channel for the last 80 feet before entering the unnamed tributary to Capell Creek. A rock lined stilling basin will be installed at the intersection to prevent erosion and smooth out the transition. The banks will be planted with native riparian vegetation. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0584 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1603.
