Document Description
A "biofilm" of bacteria and algae has built up on the walls of the N.B. Aqueduct. A polyurethane "pig" will be pumped through the pipeline to clean biofilm from the sides of the pipe. The material will be pushed into the Travis Surge Tank and a solution of biofilm and water will be pumped from the tank to a 10 million gallon pond which will be reconstructed on the site of the three existing smaller settling ponds.

Reasons for Exemption
Reconsytruction of a new larger settling pond will occur on the same site where 3 smaller ponds currebtly exist. The purpose of the new pond is to collect and settle out solids which have built up in the pipeline and surge tank, which is essentially the same purpose of the previous ponds.
