Document Description
The requested contract will co-fund research and development in the area of ultra-low emissions combustion control for gas turbine engines. The work co-funded under this contract includes combustor materials and manufacturing development, lab testing, engine testing and field demonstration of the Contractor's low NOx gas turbine combustor system. The requested co-funding is being requested in accordance with PEIR Program guidelines and in view of the State's need for distributed generation capacity without sacrificing environmental quality considerations. The Contractor will be working with very closely with Solar Turbines, Inc., of San Diego in an effort to bring this technology to commercial readiness and availability in their own Titan product lines. These engines will find rapid acceptance in the distributed generation market once the prohibitive cost of emissions mitigation is brought under control by successful implementation of Contractors combustion technology.
