Document Description
The purpose of this contract is to establish a benchmark to optimize the efficiency of the compressed air systems. The contract will also develop the measurement procedures for attaining the efficiency benchmark by the users of the compressed air systems. Currently no such benchmark exists to quantify the compressed air system plan efficiency. Compressed air is the fourth largest commonly used utility in industry after electricity, water and natural gas. Establishing a benchmark and developing the measurement procedures will allow California utilities to develop a rebate program for improving the energy efficiency of the compressed air systems.
