Constructing pile caps on cast-in-drilled-hole piles (CIDH) at abutments 1 and 5; remove and reconstruct the top slab of Abutment 1; construct a 2-foot-6-inch-thick slab on grade between the backwall at Abutment 5; add a concrete infill at the hollow top of Pier 4 with steel pipe shear keys across the end diaphragm and concrete infill; construct concrete shear keys at Pier 2 and Abutment 5; and remove existing steel bridge railing and chain link railing.
