Document Description
Project consists of restoration work in approximately a 12-acre work site, and will remove non-native vegetation and concrete/brick objects/patio and patio cover at west side of visitor center and replace with new site amenities and path/trail to a restored open space area. Project also includes remodel/rehabilitation of visitor center. Additionally project plans to reduce 200-space/180,000 sq ft parking lot to approximately 50 spaces and 50,000 sq ft and restore area where asphalt is removed with native vegetation. Overall project is beneficial, as these changes will open up the view shed of the sea and scenic mountain backdrop, enhancing visitors aesthetic/educational experiences.

An archaeologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to cultural resources. There will be negligible or no expansion of existing use. Consists of construction of limited numbers of new, small facilities. Project does not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees. Surface will be restored.
