Document Description
The City of La Mesa, in association with the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, is seeking State of California Proposition 12 funding for the proposed renovation of playground equipment at Highwood Park, in the City of La Mesa, CA. The proposed project is to create an accessible play area with new playground equipment on a rubberized surface, compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In order to provide ADA access, some site grading will occur and five trees will be relocated. New landscaping material and irrigation will be installed as part of the project, as well as the installation of an ADA-compliant sidewalk. Highwood Park is located west of Highwood Ave., south of Junior High and Cinnabar Drives and east of Parks Ave. The site is designated for Community Park use in the La Mesa General Plan and is zoned R1.
