Document Description
The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of OHV sound on the Northern Spotted Owl (NSO). In the proposed second phase of the research, a field crew will be required to locate and track nesting pairs of NSOs. Once NSOs are located, the researchers will measure the stimulus or behavioral response on breeding owls using a variety of OHV generated sound from different distances. Information derived from this research will be used to determine if there are any adverse effects from OHV generated sound and provide better biological data for managing OHV use within NSO habitat.
