Document Description
The proposed project would restore lost shoulder and roadway on King Ridge Road and stabilize the eroding embankment. The repair would involve the placement of rock armor along 180 feet of the creek bank between King Ridge Road and Austin Creek. The rock wall would be approximately 25 feet high, from the toe in the creek channel up to just below the existing road elevation. The armor would consist of large clean rocks, averaging approximately three to six feet in diameter, and be constructed by placing the rock from the existing roadway. The toe/foundation of the rock wall would be approximately 9 feet thick and subsequent courses approximately 6 feet thick. Approximately 3 feet of base rock or other suitable granular material would be compacted on top of the wall to reconstruct the lost roadway and shoulder, and the 12-inch culvert would be replaced with a standard minimum-sized 18-inch culvert. Pavement would be placed to restore the original road width of 16 feet and a guardrail would be installed.
