Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0174-R1, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Ms. Nancy Carver. Project is limited to activities associated with the periodic removal of sediment from around the fish screen and headgate structure; and the diversion of water from Shackleford Creek, Diversion No. 6 (Camp Ditch), pursuant to the Applicant's legal water right (Shackleford Creek decree No. 13775, April 3, 1950). The combined total maximum water right for the Camp Ditch is 5.0 cubic feet per second (cfs) from April 1 to Oct. 31; and a stockwater right of 1.0 cfs from Nov. 1 to April 1. Maintenance of the diversion intake involves the periodic removal of accumulated sediment around the headgate structure using hand tools including shovels, and a backhoe located above the stream banks. Currently CDFW Screen Shop maintains the fish screen/fish screen bypass pipe and keeps them in operational use. The original Camp Ditch Diversion structure and fish screen was funded by a Wildlife Conservation Board Grant in 2002; and implemented through 2002 Fishery Restoration Grant Program in partnership with the Siskiyou County Resource Conservation District. Subsequently, the original fish screen and was replaced by CDFW with a new fish screen in 2014.
