Document Description
The Draft EIS/EIR will analyze the potential impacts (beneficial and adverse) on the environment of a range of alternatives, including the proposed action and the no action alternative. The Corps of Engineers and the California Department of Parks and Recreation will cooperate in conducting this feasibility study. This study will focus on addressing the problems and needs caused by Rindge Dam and will investigate the following objectives:
-Feasibility alternatives for the restoration of the Malibu Creek riparian ecosystem (especially for steelhead trout), primarily by removing Rindge Dam,
-Feasibility alternatives for the removal of sediment behind the dam, and
-Beneficial use of the removed sediment for beach nourishment or other environmental restoration purposes.
