Document Description
The purpose of the proposed Lake Casitas Alternative Swimming Facility (Project) at the Lake Casitas Recreational Area is to provide additional public swimming and water contact recreation facilities. The installation and operation of the Project is proposed in the interest of enhancing public accessibility to recreational facilities, in accordance with the Lake Casitas General Recreational Development Plan of 1970 (NPS, 1970). The primary objective is to provide public water contact recreation opportunities while protecting the water quality and environmental uses of Lake Casitas. Currently, water contact recreation in Lake Casitas is not permitted in the interest of protecting water quality.
