Document Description
The main objective of the Kaweah South Project is to supply a reliable, continuing, and cost-effective source of high-quality rock, sand, and gravel to meet the Visalia-Tulare consumption area's anticipated long-term demand for Portland Cement Concrete-grade construction materials over the next 30 years. KRCC is proposing to mine the project area, south of its existing mining operation, for sand and gravel. The proposed project consists of construction of site facilities and infrastructure, development and implementation of a mining plan, operations, and site reclamation. New structures and facilities that would be constructed include a new access road connecting SR-245 to the project area, an aggregate processing plant and associated facilities and stockpiles, a landscaping plan, a groundwater recharge system, a cutoff wall system, and security lighting and fencing.
