Document Description
The City of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation proposes the expansion of Yucca Park through the acquisition of a mini-mall shopping complex located directly across the street from the park. A 8,946 square-foot commercial building is situated on the mini-mall site. The two sites will be physically connected by vacating that portion of Yucca Street extending from Las Palmas Avenue easterly to approximately mid-block. The commercial building will be demolished to allow for construction of two recreation buildings: a 3,000 sf community center, and a 1,800 sf teen boxing venue building. The vacated portion of Yucca Street will be planted with turf. Barricades located on North Cherokee Avenue and Las Palmas Avenue will be removed to restore access to Yucca Street for residents of an apartment building adjacent to the park.
