- The purpose of this research project is to gather information related to squirrel behavior in the caching of ponderosa pine seeds. Pine seeds which have been radiolabeled are placed near select trees and then relocated after dispersal/caching by squirrels. The radiolabeling allows researchers to relocate the seeds, thus gaining information about dispersal/caching behavior.
