Accident history will be reviewed to determine if any safety improvements are warranted. Horizontal and vertical alignments will be reviewed to determine if minor improvements would be beneficial to motorist safety and to surface drainage. Superelevation of the traveled roadway will be checked for minimum AASHTO standards. Upon completion of the final overlay work, shoulder backing will also be placed. The project will be programmed for the environmental and permits phase only in case more costly improvements are found to be warranted.
