Document Description
The proposed project would widen Auburn-Folsom Road from two lanes to four lanes from the Placer/Sacramento County line to a location just south of Douglas Boulevard. Improvements proposed include adding an additional lane in each direction, center turn lane, and/or turn pockets, sufficient paved shoulders for Class II bicycle lanes, curb and gutter at certain locations, a new traffic signal at Auburn-Folsom Road and Fuller Road, and traffic signal improvements at the intersections with the Eureka Road and Oak Hill Drive. In addition, the landscaping of shoulders and medians will be considered. The road widening would generally follow the existing alignment. Placer County has taken a four-step approach to implementing the proposed project: preliminary design, environmental review, final design and construction.
