Document Description
The Removal Action Workplan for the Los Angeles Primary Center #5 (Site) requires excavation of approximately 1,110 cubic yards of contaminated soil for off-site treatment and disposal and restoration of the site to a condition suitable for new school construction. Contamination resulted from previous use of the site as a gas station and auto repair business. The Removal Action Workplan (RAW) specifies cleanup procedures to be implemented at the Site for the excavation, removal, backfill, and transportation to off-site disposals of soils impacted with total petroleum hydrocarbons transportation to off site disposal of soils impacted with total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), volatile organic compounds (VOC's)(benzene, 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, and 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene), poly aromatic hydrocarbons, and metals. Excavation, sampling, and restoration activities are expected to occur over a fifteen day period.
