Document Description
The Civic Center Campus Master Plan was completed in early 2000. A focal point of the Master Plan includes the development of a new state-of-the-art Library and Resource Technology Center. This new Library will replace the existing 13,000 square foot County-operated library. Based on the size of the community, and the needs of patrons, the new Library will encompass approximately 95,000 square feet on a 2.1 acre site. The Library is designed as a two-story structure over a 187 space parking garage. The City Council has chosen a Spanish Architectural style for the Library . The new Library will include children, young adult, fiction, nonfiction, reference, historical museum, and audiovisual sections. Public meeting rooms, a coffee shop, and a 350-seat auditorium will complement the facility. Computer labs, a career center, and literacy center (jointly staffed by participating school districts) will serve special needs in the community. The City will house its Information Systems Division in the Library close to the computer labs.
