Document Description
The proposed project at the Fairview Developmental Center would replace the existing chiller system, which is outdated and in disrepair, with a more energy efficient system that will reduce costs. The project would replace three existing chillers, and furnish and install nine new chilled and condenser water pumps. This project will install an insulated 900,000 gallon chilled water tank system for thermal energy storage (TES) adjacent to the chilled water system. The TES will be located in the open area adjacent to the central plant. New seismic anchorage for all new equipment will be installed along with piping in accordance with code requirements. Installation of the new chillers will be placed on new concrete equipment pads and new water piping or reconfigure existing water piping as required to accommodate connection of new chillers and reconnection of existing equipment. This project will install new high efficiency lighting system in the central plant and lighting protection systems for the new TES tank. The project will replace existing transformer with a more efficient model and install new power connections to central plant equipment. This project would accommodate existing facility staff and patients, and would result in substantial reduction in maintenance costs for the Center.
