Document Description
The proposed project at the Lanterman Developmental Center would replace the existing chiller system, which is outdated and in disrepair, with a more energy efficient system that will reduce costs. The project would replace four existing chillers, four cooling towers, and replace existing cooling tower pumps. The project will also remove, replace, and route underground chilled water distribution pipe in the areas associated with and between ten buildings at the center. The cooling tank to be installed is 71 feet in diameter and 41 feet high. No aesthetic impacts will be noted due to the similar size of the existing chiller tower height to the surrounding buildings within the Lanterman boundaries. This project would accommodate existing facility staff and patients, and would result in substantial reduction in maintenance costs for the Center.
