Document Description
The project involves the implementation of activities specified in the Removal Action Workplan (RAW) to remove soil with concentrations of trichloroethylene (TCE) exceeding 1.7 mg/kg. The groundwater has also been impacted by volatile organic compounds and is currently under investigation to determine the extent of the contamination. However, groundwater remediation evaluation is not part of this project but will be addressed separately at a later time. The RAW was prepared in accordance with California Health and Safety Code Section 25356. The removal activities will include: 1. Excavation of approximately 30 cubic yards of soil impacted by trichloroethylene; 2. Collection of confirmation soil samples to verify if remedial goals have been achieved; 3. Transportation and disposal of TCE impacted soil to an appropriate permitted landfill; and 4. Backfilling the excavated areas with imported, clean soil and restoring to pre-excavation conditions.
