Document Description
The project involves the widening of SR 14 from Post Mile 16.07 to Post Mile 26.4 to four lanes. The project will result in impacts to California Desert Tortoise and Mohave Ground Squirrel, which are protected under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA), requiring issuance of a California Incidental Take Permit (Permit). The Permit referenced above as issued by CDFG authorizes incidental take of the species under CESA that may result with implementation of the project. Issuance of the Permit by CDFG is based on a finding that, among other things, all impacts on the species resulting from the authorized take will be minimized and fully mitigated under CESA through various avoidance and other mitigation measures, including the acquisition and permanent preservation of approximately 1194 acres of habitat for the species.
