Document Description
The school is a needed facility to help accommodate educational needs of the rapidly growing population in the Palmdale area. The school will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., serving a maximum of 150 students. The site is bounded by Avenue Q to the north, single-family residences to the east, vacant land and the Christ the King Episcopal Church to the south, and vacant land and 22nd Street East to the west. North of Avenue Q is an auto shop, a masonic lodge, a self-storage facility and vacant land. Single-family homes are located west of 22nd Street East. The buildings, totaling approximately 10,000 square feet in size, surround a courtyard area with a lunch shelter. Pedestrian access into the campus is provided by one gate in the west front of the school adjacent to the administration building. The pedestrian and vehicle access points will be gated and closed during school hours. A total of 5 modular classrooms will be on the campus, with space for 2 future class rooms if needed. Associated school buildings include a library/media center, multi-purpose building, kitchen and storage areas, and restrooms. The adminstrative building has offices, a workroom, lounge, conference room, and nurses office.
