Document Description
The proposed project is the construction of a bike path within a Caltrans easement (berm and right-of-way) that spans approximately 0.9 miles and 3.768 acres in the unincorporated community of Lakeside. This path will link Ashwood Street east of Cactus Park to Mapleview Street west of State Route 67. The concrete bike path will be 10-feet wide with a 2-foot graded native soil shoulder on the north and south sides. A portion of the bike path constructed on riprap under the SR 67 Bridge will be 12 feet wide. Between Ashwood Street and the SR67 Bridge, the bike path will be constructed through Cactus Park and continue on a man-made berm that traverses the westerly portion of Cactus Park as well as several properties between the park and SR 67. Furthermore, the proposed project will include a Continental prefabricated steel truss bicycle overpass to span an existing 12-foot wide drainage channel adjacent to the west side of SR 67, north of Mapleview Street. The bicycle overpass has a single span of 100 feet, a width of 10 feet, and a maximum depth of 5 feet at mid-span.
