Document Description
LLNL proposes to fit the existing CMP outfall with a downturning pipe and elbow system to discharge the water at grade. The gully soil surface would also be reinforced with an erosion control blanket (Pyramat) from the headwall above the pipe outfall to approximately 100 feet down the ravine. Contractors in full body harnesses will work from the top of the bank to prepare the surface of the gully with hand tools. The gully will be smoothed with the hand tools so that the blanket will lie flat to prevent channeling under the blanket. The Pyramat, approximately 12 feet wide, would be applied only in the gully area and will be trimmed to avoid boulders or shrubs along the edges. To provide support for the concrete apron approximately 6 to 7 cubic yards of 12 inch boulders will be placed and grouted under the lower edge where it has eroded. This area is well above the channel of the Arroyo Mocho. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number R3-2001-0800 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1601.
