The project site is currently in rural residential and agricultural uses.
The proposed project is the annexation and pre-zone of 53.38 acres of land to the City of Gilroy. The project site will be pre-zoned to M1 (Limited Industrial), which is consistent with the land use designation of Industrial Park in both the current Gilroy General Plan and in the proposed Revised Draft Gilroy General Plan. The project site is within the Gilroy urban service area, and adjacent to the Gilroy city limits on the east and south, and separated from the city limits on the west by the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way.
