Document Description
The proposed project will widen Cushing Parkway from Fremont Boulevard to the current terminus of the roadway, approximately 530 feet west of the street, Northport Loop West. This proposed project would improve Cushing Parkway from its current four lanes with a two-way left turn median to six lanes with a raised landscaped median and left turn pockets. The widening will occur on the south side of the roadway, which will include new curb, gutter and sidewalk. The project will also replace landscaping behind the sidewalk, and the street will be re-striped. The current scope of work does not include the extension of the culvert on Cushing Parkway. On February 9, 1999, the City Council approved an initial study and negative declaration for the culvert extension. The City has applied for permits from the Department of Fish and Game, Regional Water Quality Control Board and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the culvert widening work.
