Document Description
The project entails trench stabilization for a new sewer pipe that will replace the existing undersized sewer pipe of the Crystal Springs/El Cerrito Trunk Sewer on San Mateo Creek within the public right-of-way at El Cerrito Avenue, in the Town of Hillsborough, County of San Mateo. Project activities include installing pier walls at 4 locations on top-of-bank of San Mateo Creek along the sewer pipeline to stabilize the bank and road shoulder. Excavation work for the pier walls will involve drilling 24-inch pier holes approximately 25 feet in depth. Piers will be spaced 6 feet apart and will be connected with a grade beam in a 27-inch wide trench. All drilling and excavating equipment will be located within the roadways and shoulder areas while work is being performed. Approximately five native trees, two non-native trees will be removed and other vegetation will also be removed for a maximum of six feet beyond the existing edge of pavement to facilitate the installation of stabilization walls. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) are executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2013-0402-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Town of Hillsborough.
