Document Description
The applicant is proposing to develop a winery on a portion of his 165.68-acre parcel. Most of the winery facilities would be constructed underground, within three recently excavated "caves." These facilities include winery operations (fermentation, barrel storage, and bottling), winery offices, and living quarters for up to six people. Additional surface facilities include a service building, storage shed, water tanks, and temporary housing for up to 15 laborers during harvest. The applicant is also proposing a Zoning Text Amendment that would modify the County's Zoning Regulations by expanding the definition of wineries to include a subcategory: Scenic Wineries. The third component of the project is a lot line adjustment between the subject parcel (078-230-010) and the parcel directly to the east (078-230-060).
