Document Description
Development of a new public library on an approximately 6 acre portion of the La Mesa Civic Center site. The proposed library site is bound on the north by University Avenue, on the south by Allison Avene, on the east by the trolley right-of-way and on the west by Date Avenue and the rest of the Civic Center property. A 40,000+/- square foot library is proposed with approximately 200 surface parking spaces. An existing warehouse, post office and office buildings on the property will be demolished as part of the project. The project also involves closing Nebo Drive between University Avenue and Allison Avenue and closing a portion of Date Avenue north of Allison. The existing library on an adjacent parcel on the Civic Center will also be demolished following construction of the new library. City of La Mesa File Number DAB/DRB 02-07.
